He would grow the plants along a canal and ship his crops to California and Denver when the railways came through. It's true what you say about Utah; parsley is very easy to grow here.

The detail you have gone into is fantastic. Will definitely look at the punnets of parsley a little closer next time. Having said that my "curly leaf" parsley went berserk this year.

I’m inspired now to grow some of these herbs as container plants on my part shade driveway (sunniest part of the house).

Would large transplants of these Apiaceae but suitable for a pollinator garden? Would they do ok in some shade?

thank you for raising the apiaceae bar. all good to know.
here where i garden i have noticed the weakness and eventual failure of a percentage of parsley we plant in the client gardens. i cannot grow all of it myself, but can be more focused on how the purchased plants are grown.
we worked for a couple in their 90's for many years. the wife always asked for parsley planted in the little doorway bed. she would munch some as she went in and out. i think she was close to 100 when she finally passed on.
all best,

I'm one of 'those' people to whom cilantro tastes like soap. But my oldest daughter loves it and I do like a bit in my Mexican dishes, but I have to go really easy on it because of the soap taste.
