What a lovely post and true on so many counts. I am the oldest of four sisters and try not to think about losing one of them. Siblings share so many memories with us that no one else does; the part of our life that made us who we are to a great extent. Have a wonderful trip.

Your words are true, and are a loving tribute to Cindy. I have many 'sentimental plants': we have kept a scented pelargonium that was grown by my mother since 1962, and a cutting from my father's favorite gardenia, taken in 1993, is now a 4 foot tall houseplant covered with scented flowers. They mean more to me than any other plants I have.
* You could try salt, as it is cheaper and easier to find and carry than leech boots. Bon Voyage, and all best ~~

Condolences on your sister's death. So sorry. And the time from diagnosis to her death is breathtaking. No one could be prepared for that.
