They've been transferred once, and now I'm thinking of planting them next to my garage yet last time I did this, the plant eventually died. What are the things I have to watch out for when transplanting?

Here in Cambridge it does not seem to have been a great year for tomatoes; I did not grow any, but the downstairs neighbors had a few rows in their part of the garden and while they set a lot of fruit, they were so ravaged with disease by the beginning of this month that they cleared them out early.

Mine are in containers now and have finished blooming since they were probably forced in the greenhouse before I bought them. I am in western CT.
